Robotics Expectations

This semester we are going to change from power writing to STEM. I am pretty excited to change to STEM because it sounds really fun and interesting. But I will also miss power writing because it has been a fun semester and I have enjoyed it. In STEM I heard we will be making some type of under-water robots or submarines. It sounds hard and I am not very good at building things but we will probably learn in the class. It seems we will also be competing with our robots so that sounds interesting. I can't wait to go to STEM and build robot submarines.

My Christmas break

This Christmas break I stayed in Puerto Rico. I spent most of my time in my beach house in Isabela. I spent a lot of time with my cousins since I don't see them much because they live in the states. For Christmas Eve I went to a party with my dad's side of the family. I got really bored at the party because I didn't know half of the people there but apparently they knew me. Then I had to go to another party at my parent's friend's house. I was also bored at this party because there were only little kids that just randomly came up to me and started telling me weird things. On Christmas day I was so happy because of the presents I got and was using them for the whole day except after I had to go to my Aunt's house for a party. The party was sorta fun I got to see my cousins.

After christmas we went to Isabela to see my mom's side of the family which is huge since my grandma has 13 brothers and sisters. During one of the weekends we went paddle boarding in a "dangerous" river. It was really fun but everyone was trying to push each other in the river. They pushed me in 3 times so obviously I had to go back and get revenge on them. So I started paddling towards them and tried to knock them off their boards. It was really fun and the river was really pretty.

During New years we went to my mom's aunt house to celebrate. My whole family was there and I had a good time.I went to sleep at 5AM! I was so tired but the next day, on January 1st, everyone at the New Year's party went to the baseball field like every year and we played games and did tug-of-war. Finally on January 2nd we had our annual caminata. Every year we have a walk from Aguadilla to Isabela and we go through hills, rocks, streets and through the beach until we eventually end up at a restaurant were we finish the journey. This year it was really fun because some stray dogs started following us through the whole caminata which was 12 miles. There were 5 of them, their names were Rocky, Snow or Mere, Sol, Oreo and Blacky. In a pit stop Rocky left us and Blacky joined us but as we kept walking we found Rocky with some random family at the beach. The family had renaimed him as Chucho but he came back with us and we changed it back to Rocky. After that we continued the caminata and when we finally reached the end we had to return the dogs to the beach they came from. Everybody was sad and started crying but we couldn't take them. Overall I had a fun christmas break but I was really sad because I couldn't go skiing this year which is one of my all-time favorite things. But at least I got to spend time with my family.

Where I would be if christmas vacation started today

I wish that Christmas break would get here already! I am tired of doing homework; test, project, quizzes and I have finals coming up so I have to study for that a lot. If Christmas break would start today the first thing I would do would be to go straight to my house. I would leave the school as soon as brake starts. In my house I would either go on Netflix, call my friends over, go to the beach or go to the pool. I would do anything that has nothing to do with school.

I wish I could be in Vermont skiing. It is like a family tradition that we have. We go to Stowe every year to ski. I wish that it would snow in Puerto Rico so I could ski because it is one of my favorite things to do. Every year I make the best out of the time we have to ski. I never get tired of skiing! I really like it in Stowe because the people are really nice and they have really good restaurants. We also go sledding down a special hill near the house we stay at. Although all these things are really fun my favorite thing to do is ski. I keep on getting better every year and am able to go on harder trails. I hope this year I will learn to go on the black diamonds but I will have to practice a lot first.

It takes me a long time to go down since I turn a lot; on the contrary my sister just goes straight down at full speed without stopping. That is not a good idea because she once crashed into a man and he got really mad at her. We had to come to her rescue and since then she has learned to go slower. My mom on the other hand falls as soon as she gets off the lift. She goes skiing sitting down on her butt. The ski patrol once had to rescue her because she went skiing straight into the woods and got stuck under a pile of snow. She decided to take some classes but her instructor wouldn’t let her leave the bunny slope because he said she wasn’t prepared. My mom got a bit frustrated and she decided to learn on her own. She has been learning more and has improved so she doesn’t fall as much. But even though there have been some accidents it is all so much fun!

Another thing I would like to be doing is seeing my family; I haven’t some of my family members in a long time. I want to see them during Christmas and New Year’s. I enjoy spending time with them because most of my cousins are around my age so we have tons of fun. Some things we do usually end up in fights or someone getting food on their face or hair but it is all part of being family. A couple of my cousins have left to college and I want to see them! I have missed them and I’m sure my family has too.

There are so many things I could be doing right now instead of being at school but we have to be here and look at the bright side, at least we get to be with our friends. There are only about 2 weeks left I can’t wait for them to end. I’m really exited and I’m sure everyone is too but all our hard work in school will pay off during this Christmas brake.

Butterfinger

A couple of days ago I tried a Butterfinger I got from Halloween. I was curious about its taste so i decided to try it. I didn't like it! It tasted like peanut butter which I do not like. If i liked peanut butter I would have loved it but sadly I don't. I recommend this candy only to people who like peanuts and peanut butter. If you don't like peanut butter don't try it because trust me, you will hate it.

I should have read the caption...

The Faucet

Today in class we saw The Faucet (El Grifo).

Summary:
In the movie there was a family that went on vacation and left the grandpa in their house to guard it and take care of the dogs and anything that had to be done in the house. Before they left the mom say goodbye to him and so did the kids but the dad didn't. The dad had also rolled his eyes at him which tells you that he doesn't have a good relationship with him. After they left you can see that the grandfather had been hiding the dad's sunglasses in his jacket, which the dad had been looking for. Later the grandfather wanted to take his pills and when he went to get water from the faucet it wouldn't come out. To fix it he put his finger up it and it got stuck there. He stayed with his finger in the faucet for 3 days and 2 nights. At the end he couldn't take it anymore and decided to cut his finger off.

I think that everyone should have this faucet because they can't get their finger stuck in it
Conflict/Message:
The conflict in the story is that the old man is trying to survive by himself with his finger stuck in a faucet. This happens because the family leaves him by himself. The message is to care about your family and have a good relationship because if they would have had a better relationship they might have not left him by himself in the house.

Character Relationship:
In the movie you can tell the dad does not have a good relationship with the grandpa
because he doesn't say goodbye to him and you can also predict the mom didn't take her car because the dad didn't want to. Another way is that when the mom calls to check on the dad she says she thinks something bad happened to the grandpa but the dad says she is worrying to much and exaggerating.  You can tell the mom and children care about him but the dad does not.

Was it effective, did it hold your attention?
Yes, the movie was effective and captured my attention but in the end it lost my attention because I got a bit scared and freaked out. To some people it wasn't as bad and I could tell it captured their full attention.

What happened in the end?
This movie has a mysterious ending. The last thing you see is the grandfather cutting off his finger, the mom running in the street and later the grandfather falling to the floor. There are a couple of things that could have happened; he could have died, he could have been paralyzed, he could have fainted and finally he could have been in a big state of shock. In my opinion I believe he was paralyzed because I don't think you can die by cutting your finger off, but it might have been that he fainted.

This is the movie if you want to watch it :)

The best halloween

This is my costume. Wasn't I the cutest baby you have ever seen?
The best ever halloween I have ever lived in my life was on October 1999 (yes I may be short but I am that old). I was a little baby dinosaur and I was 1 month old. I'm not sure if I even got candy :(. I probably got a lot because who wouldn't want to give a 1 month old baby dinosaur candy? My parents probably took all my candy and ate it because i couldn't eat candy at that time. That explains why i was so clam back then... Maybe that wasn't my favorite halloween since I didn't eat candy! But it was my favorite costume by far. My costume was so cool, it was purple and it had green spikes going down the back and a little hat to go with it.

Last year I collected a lot of candy and I got to go trick or treating with all my friends. I think it was the most candy I have ever collected on Halloween. Although my mom usually steals it and takes it to work. This year I'm going to hide my candy and nobody is going to be able to take it. I'm getting a bit to old to trick or treat but I'm gonna enjoy getting free candy from strangers while it lasts. If not i'll secretly steal the candy my mom buys for the kids on halloween...

Creepy Pasta

Today I'm going to write a creepy pasta. Its going to be related to candy and its not going to be that scary since I don't want to get the creeps. Enjoy!

There once was a little girl who wanted to eat candy, but she had one problem, she couldn't find the one she liked. Everyday she went to the candy store and tried a new candy but she never found the one she liked. After school her mom would give her a candy to see if over time she would learn to like it but it never seemed to work. The girl was determined to like candy, so after a lot of research she found a website that sold every single type of candy. They sold lollipops, chocolates, chewy candies, hard candies and any other type of candy you could imagine in every flavor you could think of. She decided to order the ones that she thought she would like but there was one candy that looked odd to her...

This is the girl that is haunted by the evil candy
When the candy finally arrived she found one candy that she liked, the strange looking one! She didn't pay much attention to its appearance since she was so happy to have found a candy she liked. After eating that candy for a month she realized something. The candy was a haunted and it made her do crazy things. Every time when tried to say something she would say a totally different thing that made no sense, when she tried to walk, instead she would jump, when she wanted to draw or write, her hand would just scribble the paper. She couldn't control anything she did! The only way to remove the haunted candy from her soul was to get an open-heart surgery.

She was frightened of operations but she knew she couldn't live with an evil candy her whole life. After living with the evil candy for a week she decided to get the operation. A couple of days later she went to the hospital, by this point she was crazier than ever! During the operation the doctors had many problems since the evil candy wouldn't want to come out. With a lot of hard work they managed to remove the haunted evil candy. The girl was so happy but she didn't know that with the evil candy came more than she thought. She would have to live with one problem, she could never eat any type of candy again...
